To Customize your Stationery

Edit- 1st way: In the Box

On the right side there will be a bar (as seen in (a.) below, highlighted in green)

To edit, you click on each section as shown in (b.)  When you click, above a text bar will open with the template words in them as shown above. You can delete the words and put in your own. On the left side, you will see that your text will show up.  Then you go down the list, clicking on each section to edit. If you only use this column, you will not have to re- center it.

Be aware that the text box will not always show the text as it will appear on the left, in your design.  This happens when there is a lot of text in the box.  The spacing will be wrong and the words will sometimes be cut in half in the box.  What you see on the left, in the design, will show what your final design will look like.

Edit- 2nd way: On the Design

You can double click on the text on the left side (as seen below, highlighted in blue). When it is selected, the text bar on the right side will open. You can edit your text in that bar or you can edit on the design by changing the text.  You are free to move the text anywhere you want and you can do that by clicking on the text on the left, in the picture.

Re-Center your Text

With this 2nd edit option, you might end up moving the text block around. To center the text again, you have to click the text block to select it, right click, and then choose "center to horizontal" if you want to center the text.  You can see this above in the picture on the right.

To Undo

If you make a mistake and want to go back, on your keyboard you can hold down "Control" and "Z" on PC or "Command" and "Z" on MAC to undo your mistake.

Or you can click on the undo half circle on the right, as seen below:

How do I save my Stationery?

To save your stationery, you can click on the left side box.  There will be a save button as seen in the green highlight. The save will save your design.

How do I Download my Stationery?

On the left side, there will be a download cloud icon (as seen above, highlighted in blue). When you click it the box will open.  It will ask you to choose the format.  Choose "jpeg".  You can also choose if you want to download your design in a zip folder or not.  A zip folder is not needed to download your design.

The option for an extra bleed margin

The option for extra margin bleed is so that your design will print on the entire paper and go over the sides. This is used so no part of the design is lost when it is cut.

Guidelines: what are the trim marks aka guidelines for?

If this option is checked, when you print your design there will be lines at the corners of your design. You can use the guidelines to cut a straight line by cutting from one guideline to the other.  Or you can draw lines from one guideline to another and then cut along those lines.

To see if you need to have guidelines and/or bleed margin, read the instructions below.

If you plan to just use the digital copy:

Make sure the guidelines are unchecked. You don't need the extra bleed margin, but if you want it, you can leave it checked.  Then click to download.

  • bleed margin: no
  • trim marks: no

If you plan to print:

at a printing place or store

First you will have to go to the store or look at their printing section online. See if they require you to have a "bleed" or a "bleed margin" for your design.  The bleed margin will have your design continue outside the normal size. This is so when the printer prints your design, your design covers the entire piece of paper.

If you need to have a bleed/margin

Keep the extra margin bleed checked. Uncheck the guidelines box (if the box is checked). Then click to download.

  • bleed margin: maybe- check your store's instructions
  • trim marks: no

Print at Home

If you plan to cut out your invitation

(You will be using a regular size sheet of paper, not a pre-cut, special size)

If your design has a white or light color background

Choose to keep the bleed margin and guidelines by having the boxes checked.  Then click to save. After you print, you can draw a straight line from each corner of the guidelines to the other then cut along those lines.

  • bleed margin: yes
  • trim marks: yes

if your design has a darker color background

You can print it with the margins and guidelines checked or not. If you don't keep the guidelines and margin, then you can cut along the edge where the color ends.

  • bleed margin: not needed
  • trim marks: no. yes if using a bleed margin

If you are printing onto a paper of the exact size

The bleed margin and guidelines boxes should not be checked, so make sure they are unchecked.

For example, if you are printing onto a 5x7 piece of paper and you are printing a 5x7 design, make sure the boxes are not checked. You don't want to have a margin and you don't want to have guidelines.

  • bleed margin: no
  • trim marks: no

How big is the stationery?

Look on each product page to see the size.  In general Invitations and Cards will be 5"x7" (five by seven inches) and RSVPs will be 3"x5" (three by five inches).

What is the best way to print?

The best way to print is to have it professionally printed.  Home printers are good for everyday use but they don't print in the same detailed way as a professional printer.  For example, our home printer doesn't keep the paper completely still and the text comes out with a little bit of a blur.

Professional printing isn't extremely expensive.  You can usually find printing services at local or online office stores or big sell everything stores that have photo printing.

Can I print onto colored paper?

You can print on colored paper, but the design colors will most likely be different.  On dark paper the color may not even show at all.  Where you have white in the design, the color of your paper will show.  White paper, Ivory paper, Egg Shell, or Ecru colored paper will work the best for the designs.  Sometimes Kraft paper can also make a cool design.
